We appreciate our great friends at #Ginkgo Residential for allowing us to come out to share breakfast with them yesterday at their Manager’s Meeting in Raleigh! Hans Dara and Shanae Auguste steered the group on eviction process and fielded some thoughtful questions on some of the legal matters on the horizon. The Ginkgo Team is a really informed and inquisitive bunch, and they were truly engaged with the meeting we had with them – we trust that they will be able to take the knowledge Hans and Shanae provided, and use it to better serve their multi-family communities!

On Thursday, February 9th, we joined up with one of our fantastic clients, First Communities Management, for a Lunch & Learn at CORT Furniture in Charlotte. Chris Loebsack and Jared Schmidt guided the meeting and gave the team some helpful tips and strategies in eviction process, and went over some of the relevant law changes at a glance. Max Terry and her cohorts from First Communities were engaged and inquisitive, and we appreciate their eagerness to gain more knowledge and understanding to help make their respective communities better places to live!
Ask how you can get involved with a Lunch & Learn with us – it’s a FREE perk we offer to all our clients to whom we provide eviction services. Just another way we add value and provide comprehensive services that make life easier AND better for our partners in the multi-family housing industry!
Lunch & Learn Request
Wishing a very happy 1st Anniversary to attorney Micheal Littlejohn. We appreciate you and thank you for all of your hard work.
We had a great afternoon with Signature Property Group for a Lunch & Learn at HQ Greensboro! Hans and Cara went over some specific details regarding handling writs, talked with the participants about other eviction-related proceedings, and filled them in on what’s on the horizon for 2017 in the multi-family housing industry. We are truly grateful to partner with SPG, and hope that the afternoon was beneficial and informative as they strive to make their managed communities better! Lari Waskey with SPG even told us that the event was a WELCOME diversion for the day, as she and her managers are transitioning through a software conversion. So happy join to forces with you and your team, Lari, and we look forward to serving you throughout the coming year!

The Eviction Team is proud to announce the selection of Managing Principal, Chris Loebsack, to the 2017 North Carolina #SuperLawyers list, the 4th time he’s been honored. Super-Lawyers is a research-driven, peer influenced rating service of outstanding lawyers who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. It annually recognizes no more than five percent of attorneys in NC with this exclusive honor. Congratulations, Chris!
Our offices, and the courts, will be closed in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, January 16, 2017. Our offices will reopen on Tuesday morning at 9:00 AM.
If severe weather impacts your area and courts are closed or delayed, we will contact the clerk of courts the next business day that they are open and reschedule your cases for the first available date. Please allow us ample time to do this after the courts have reopened, especially if multiple counties are affected. We will work as expeditiously as possible, but it sometimes takes several hours or even a few days to reschedule things because the courts are overwhelmed with phone calls and communications. Once cases have been rescheduled, we will update the eviction portal and the system will send out email updates that night.
To find out if your county is affected, please visit the links below for North Carolina or South Carolina. We will send out email alerts and update our website as well. Please be safe.

For more information, please contact your eviction services manager after the severe weather has passed and they have had sufficient time to reschedule. To find out who your eviction services manager is, please click here.
This Friday, November 11th, the courts are closed in observance of Veteran’s Day. Because many of you begin filing on the 10th, our offices will still be open on Friday, but on an abbreviated schedule. Our staff will be here from 9:30 am until 1:30 pm and during those hours, we will be reviewing and processing evictions.
Please note that even though the courts are closed, we will be working diligently to get your files out the door. Once your cases are processed, they are packaged up and dropped in the UPS express box so that the clerk will receive them first thing on Monday morning.
If you ever have a question as to whether or not your case is out the door and whether or not you will be charged, please be sure to contact your eviction services manager. Our staff list can be found here – simply choose your county to find out your eviction services manager’s contact information.
In our continued effort to find new ways to increase speed and provide improved service for our clients, we are pleased to announce that beginning December 10th, we will begin providing even faster turnaround on filing services for our South Carolina clients. In addition to hiring extra staff so that we may review and process more quickly, we will be sending all courthouse packets via Early Morning Overnight delivery. What this means for you is that the clerk of court should have your papers in hand by 10am the very next morning after we process it.
In order to accomplish this, though, we will need to increase our pricing slightly. Beginning December 10th, our rates for Evictions in South Carolina will go up by $5 per case. I trust you will agree that this minimal investment will add much, much more to your Property’s bottom line as you start getting your cases processed sooner, enabling you to either recoup your unpaid balances or regain possession and turn those units into new (and hopefully) better-paying residents that much faster.
For most of you, this means the total cost of an eviction in South Carolina will be $95 (that includes our attorney fee as well as applicable filing and service fees). The cost of Writs will remain the same. And remember, you can pass these fees on to your residents after you receive our invoices. If you use a private process server, your total cost will be $85 for evictions plus whatever you pay your process server on your own.
If you have any questions at all about any of this information, please do not hesitate to contact us – we’ll be glad to address any concerns or provide additional insights for you. As always, we appreciate your business and your continued trust in us, your Eviction Services Partner.
