Lynette McPherson

Lynette-McPhersonHappy Anniversary to our paralegal, Lynette McPherson.  Thank you for the last 3 years of dedicated service and for keeping on top of things so that the attorneys look good.  We appreciate all you do for us and for our clients.

Welcome Micheal Littlejohn

image1Loebsack & Brownlee is happy to welcome Micheal Littlejohn as an Associate Attorney in our Charlotte office.  Micheal graduated from the University of Mary Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science before receiving his Juris Doctor from Charlotte School of Law.  In addition to his previous experience as a law clerk, Micheal volunteered with the Mississippi Center for Justice researching methods of relief for Hurricane Katrina and BP Oil Spill survivors.  He also volunteers with Faith, Hope, and Love Mentoring, working with at risk children and striving to make an impact on the community through education and mentoring. Micheal also coaches youth basketball at Tom Sykes Recreation Center.  When not in the office or the courtroom, Micheal enjoys sports, travel, and technology.  We are pleased that Micheal has joined our team as we continue to serve landlords and property management companies in the great state of North Carolina.

Inclement Weather

If severe weather impacts your area and courts are closed, we will contact the clerk of courts the next business day that they are open and reschedule your cases for the first available date.  Please allow us ample time to do this after the courts have reopened, especially if multiple counties are affected.  We will work as expeditiously as possible, but it sometimes takes several hours or even a day to reschedule things because the courts are overwhelmed with phone calls and communications.  Once cases have been rescheduled, we will update the eviction portal and the system will send out email updates that night.

To find out if your county is affected, please visit the links below for North Carolina or South Carolina.  We will send out email alerts and update our website as well.  Please be safe and stay warm.

Happy President’s Day

President’s Day is Monday, February 15, and we’ll be here if you need us.  Courts are also open that day, so it will be business as usual.

Thank you to our Veterans

From all of us at Loebsack & Brownlee, PLLC, we want to say a very heartfelt thank you to our Veterans.  We are humbled by your sacrifice and indebted to you for your service.  Thank you.

SCRA Compliance and Adjustment to Flat Fee Rates

On June 17, a letter was emailed out to all clients regarding SCRA Compliance and the need to adjust our flat fee rates on a county-by-county basis as counties come on board with those new requirements.  As of the time of this post, the following counties are requiring the new affidavits, and the cost of attorney fees in those counties has been adjusted.  If you have any questions, please contact Michael Bell and he will assist you.  Also, check out the cost estimator on the Processes page.  It will estimate the total cost for you based on the factors that you input.
